The Building Commission's Certificate of Accreditation proves our products comply with the performance requirements in the new Australian bushfire building regulations for use in areas classified up to bushfire attack level (FZ) flame zone.

It also shows that our product meets stringent government fire rating and engineering standards.

Wildfire Safety Bunkers Building Accreditation

“This will be a relief to the hundreds of property owners who have been waiting for a government building standard to be set for fire bunkers” said Wildfire Director Anthony Tratt.

“Our company has had significant public response over the past six months from clients who have recognised the high quality and value of our purpose built and engineered products.”

“Our bunker technology is based around products developed for cyclone, hurricane and tornado conditions in the USA, where 40,000 units have been sold since 1978, now having been redesigned, re-engineered and fire rated specifically for Australian bushfire conditions.” he said.

In Australia, it seems that each year the weather has become more unpredictable with higher than average winds and extreme temperatures, as evidenced by “Black Saturday” in Victoria last February.

The Wildfire Safety Bunker has been designed as a place of last resort in a bushfire situation and can form part of an effective Bushfire Survival Plan.

It is NOT designed as a substitute for sound fire practice or to offer residents additional incentive to remain under threat of fire, but essentially to assist if a threatening situation develops.

“It’s somewhere to go when there’s nowhere to go” Anthony Tratt said. “When situations change and the time to execute an evacuation plan has been cut short, then a safety bunker could be the last realistic option, particularly for residents living in isolation.”
